Today is the longest day on the BASH some 600 k’s which went an early start, bagpipes at 5 am from the Highlander team. A vote was taken and due to a couple of extra cold drinks last night we took the soft option to Mt Isa via the main highway for 450 k’s. We stopped at the famous Walkabout Creek Hotel for a cold drink. A Hotel room was found near tonights dinner, which is a 70’s theme. The three boys froed up and hit streets for the short walk to dinner, which attracted a couple of looks from the locals.
I can see the movie deal now… 3 boys from the city travelling through the outback in a quirky mode of transport.
Will they make it to Alice Spings in time for the big show…
